What's the difference between Hosted, Owned, and AI Team?
Hosted and Owned are the same custom software — we just run it or you do. On Hosted, we handle infrastructure, updates, and uptime for a monthly fee. On Owned, you pay once, we deploy to your infrastructure, and hand you the source code, database, and credentials. AI Team is a different product: dedicated hardware running a custom AI team we design around your workflows, supported on a monthly retainer.
Can I start on Hosted and move to Owned later?
Yes. Hosted clients can migrate to a fully owned deployment at any time. We export your data, deploy the codebase to your infrastructure, transfer credentials and documentation, and hand over the keys. No lock-in, no punitive exit.
What tech stack do you use?
Flask and Python on the backend, Postgres or SQLite depending on project size, and plain JavaScript on the frontend — no heavy frameworks, no build step, no lock-in. We use Alembic for schema migrations so your database can evolve cleanly over time. We wire in AI where it adds real value, typically through xAI's Grok API, though OpenAI and Anthropic are drop-in alternatives. Your whole codebase is small enough for any competent developer to read in an afternoon.
How long does a project take?
Typically 4-8 weeks from discovery to delivery. Working prototypes can be live in 1-2 weeks for rapid validation — you interact with a real tool before we build the full version.
What about AI maintenance and updates over time?
AI models improve constantly. On Hosted and AI Team, we handle model updates, prompt refinement, and feature additions as part of the monthly fee. On Owned, an optional $1,500/mo retainer covers the same. Without a retainer, your app keeps working — AI features don't expire, they just don't evolve.
